The NYC flagship location (Las Vegas, Miami are also worth mentioning) is centered in the heart of Meatpacking District (MePa) and widely known for their over-the-top champagne brunches and vibrant nightclub atmosphere. I visited the Cinnamon Snail at the final week of their successful journey through the food truck scene. Coined as perhaps one of the most instagrammed vendors in 2014, Cinnamon Snail in 2015 sure didn't disappoint either.  Their food is just as advertised, and deserving of the 5.0/5.0 and here's why.

An extension of the original David's Brisket House in Bed-Stuy (you'll definitely want to visit that too), I've followed the story and was a fan soon after they first opened in Bay Ridge. I have absolutely glowing remarks for this sandwich shop from the start.  While David's Brisket House specializes in brisket, the real winner here is the award-winning, absolute best corned beef and pastrami this side of Brooklyn.

The Boil | Lower East Side



The Boil is a bayou-style seafood joint that opened in the LES in early 2013 to high acclaim. Everything you've come to expect from The Big Easy are here, from the brown paper lined tables, the bucket used to dispose of cracked shells, food served by the pound, and the garlic and butter sifting through the air.

Monaco's Bakery, opened in 2011, lauded for their wonderful cakes, attentive customer service, and delectable desserts warrant multiple mentions in Time Out NY, CBS, and NY Daily News deserves to be in the conversation of one of the top bakeries in NYC. Mike's Donuts is figuratively the Peter Pan Donuts equivalent of South Brooklyn. There, I said it. There is no substitute and let it be known that they make their donuts fresh daily on-premises. 

Everything looks and smells wonderful and as with establishments that's been around since 1976, they have a huge following.  Let me say this- I'm now one of them. Of course, as with most businesses from the '70s, their decor is also stuck from that era. There's not much to look at. WiFi? Creature comforts? Don't ask about it. Customer service is friendly but atypical of Brooklyn, heavy handed, so get a clue as to what you want to order, pronto!

12 Corner's latest outpost extends into Chinatown, 121 Mott St. replacing the outgoing beleaguered Orange Teahouse.  Time will tell how they fare against the glut of Chinese coffee shops and bakeries in Chinatown but one thing is clear, service and premium coffee drinks you've come to expect from the sister shop on East Broadway are here as well.
