Robicellis Bakery | Bay Ridge | Brooklyn

Robicelli's Liddabit Cupcake
Robicelli's takes the cupcake! Yes, I meant it in every sense of the word. They have (and still do via wholesale) some of the best cupcakes in the city, and most certainly all of Brooklyn.  They're located in South Brooklyn and by that I mean Bay Ridge.  While I've been into their bakery often in 2014-2015, I've always found myself gravitating to their cupcakes, for good reason. 4.5/5.0
(Note: retail portion is now closed - it's now a commissary/commercial kitchen)
Robicelli's Storefront
It's impossible to draw comparisons to other bakeries in the neighborhood, as each do their own little thing - Little Cupcake Bakeshop comes to mind, and while they may have been around longer, LCB pumps out mainstream cupcakes that are oftentimes lacking.  No, Robicelli's is quite a departure from the abundance of Italian bakeries dotted throughout Bay Ridge, and many long-time residents are glad to have had a choice.
Allison Robicelli
They're the real deal and Allison and Matt Robicelli are equally as real. They're in there every day to ensure quality and to make sure their orders go out the door.  It's also their testbed for launching new and creative things to add to the menu.
Green Tea Pocky
Green Tea Pocky
By my books, they've won me over with the first bite of their cupcakes, brownies, and whoopie pies with edgy names like Car Bomb, Bellini, Chocolate Merlot, Mocha Turtle. I've had more than my fair share of it, and they do change up the selection every month to keep things fresh. However, you can otherwise get your hands on cupcakes at restaurants or other eateries they supply they provisions to.  By comparison, they are on the smaller edge of the spectrum in relation to size, but that's made up by the premium ingredients in each and every bite. Yes, the buttercream is made up of a European variety.
Chicken n' Waffles (a special, during Super Bowl)
Seasonally, you might find some odds and ends like the above mentioned Chicken n' Waffle cupcake.  It's as delicious as it sounds and sweet, as opposed to savory.  However, if you're looking for Red Velvet, there's none to be found here.  Food dyes are not found anywhere in their kitchen.  Cake orders are custom, as to be expected.
For a while, they had the town up at arms over the latest craze, Nutelasagna.

Crème Brûlée, Brooklyn Blackout, Coquito
For all intent and purpose, their cupcakes are delicious, and it's evidently easy to see why.  They're well done, in a nice portable size, with popular flavors almost anyone can identify with.  The only knock we have is the lack of retail presence, which we were assured will be rectified in the coming year ahead.  Looking forward to it! 4.5/5.0
